This new collection by printmaker Sally Spens showcases the beauty of copper plate etching, and takes us on a journey from West Cornwall to the coast of northern Italy.
It explores environments which bring art and nature together, inspired by the sculpture gardens of Cornwall, and Venice during its famous Biennale, when the city becomes a garden of artwork. Inspirations include the Hepworth Garden in St Ives, Terence Coventry's sculpture garden on the Lizard Peninsula, and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, presenting a survey of the artist's response to two inspiring locations which are known for their natural beauty and their importance to the history of art.

Sally studied Textiles and Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and went on to work as a textile designer in London, New York and Japan. In 2018 and 2022 she undertook art residencies at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, and in 2022 she was invited to exhibit during the Venice Art Biennale. Her work is held in the Public Collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and the Changsha University, Hunan province, China. She lives and works in Cornwall.
