Viv Richards

Works
Overview

Viv Richards moved to Cornwall from London in 2017. She previously painted the sea as an escape from her busy London life, but now her paintings are about finding calm and peace on the beautiful Cornish coast - even on a wet, stormy day. Her work celebrates the vastness of the sea and sky, and the sublime feeling of open space.

Viv's collage and mixed media works are built up in layers of collage, gouache, oil paint, and sometimes clay, paper pulp or felting wool. Often, she will burn or place the work in the bath or out in the rain, allowing these mediums to dictate the final outcome.
