Viv Richards

Viv Richards makes work inspired by her appreciation for the beauty of Cornwall's ocean views, far horizons and unique feeling of open sky and space. Her artworks are created from layers of mixed media, collage, paint and an assortment of different materials such as paper pulp, felting wool, wax and straw. Accidental marks are an important part of Viv's working practice, and she will often let the nature of her materials, and the effect of outdoor elements such as sun and rain leave their mark on the surface of each work.

Viv graduated from Central St Martins with a BA in Jewellery Design, and from West of England University with a BA in Fine Art. She has exhibited at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Other Art Fair, Kew Gardens, at Tate Modern London as part of their Pillow Talk exhibition with South London Women Artists, and at galleries across the UK. She lives and works in Bude, North Cornwall.
