Alison Dickson was born in Northern Ireland but has lived and worked in Scotland for many years. Her landscape paintings are inspired by places of personal significance, while her still life works are inspired by everyday objects and themes of belonging, identity and memory.
Alison's work has been repeatedly selected for the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and Royal Scottish Academy annual exhibitions. She was awarded the Higher Bridges Prize as part of her residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, and in 2024 she was awarded the Debra Manifold Prize at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours exhibition in London.
