Overview
Esther Smith

Esther's upbringing on the north coast of Scotland has a strong influence on her work. Now based in Cornwall she takes inspiration from the beautiful natural surroundings and the goings on of coast and country. Having trained in jewellery and silversmithing at Birmingham's School of Jewellery Esther started to automata making in 2014

 

Copper, silver and brass are the main metals used along with enamel and reclaimed tin. Each piece is crafted by hand so when similar items are made each piece is unique. Where possible recycled metal is used and all the wood reclaimed, either from local furniture makers or off-cuts from the local boat builders.
