Overview
Suki Wapshott is a painter of poetic landscapes, seascapes and abstract works inspired by the spectacular North Cornwall coastline. Her practice is based on emotive interpretation and free expression, achieved through gestural mark making and an instinctive approach to colour and form.
Suki graduated from Oxford University with a BA in English, and the inspiration she gained from her studies of Anglo Saxon and Medieval Poetry remains an influence on her paintings. She lives in Polzeath with her husband, photographer Nick Wapshott. Together they are Directors of Whitewater Contemporary, which exhibits their own work alongside that of other artist whose collections are inspired by the unique landscape of North Cornwall.
