Ben Taffinder's drawings and paintings explore the landscape of Cornwall in the familiar context of his family's coastal farm, and his own professional role as a fisherman and diver. Using vibrant colour, pattern, contrast and a powerful approach to composition, Ben works with impasto and a palette knife to create works of art that explore relationships of colour and tone.
Ben was raised on Cornwall's beautiful Roseland Peninsula. He time spent working as a lobster fisherman and commercial diver, before becoming a full-time artist, committed to painting en plein air in the landscape he grew up in. Ben studied at Falmouth College of Art and began his career as a sculptor and installations artist, working as far afield as Iceland and Taiwan.
