As a young artist in the 1970s, Ian Hargreaves travelled Europe, developing a love of the Mediterranean subjects that have influenced his work ever since. Today he continues to paint locations in Italy in particular, as well as the towns and beaches on the Cornish coast. This exhibition includes paintings of Polzeath, Port Isaac and the surrounding area, alongside images inspired by the locations in Italy, Portugal, and Greece.
Ian has exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists. His work has been accepted twice for the prestigious Lynn-Painter-Stainer’s Prize at the Mall Galleries, and in 2016 he won the Artist of The Year award in London.
